Virtual Walk to Arches National Park!

  First stop _ Lebanon, OR  (Virtually) ~ 16. 8 miles completed - 983.2 to go!   Note the red marking on the route below. That's the distance I have completed! Virtual map of of walking journey to Arches NP I virtually made it to Lebanon, OR 16 miles from my home in Albany, OR. Not much, but it's a start! I actually completed the mileage at Takena Park in Albany. Much of the trail was flooded that day and the evening brought a beautiful sunset! At the boat dock on the Willamette River. Surf's up! At the end of walk I saw a pretty sunset!

Virtual Record Keeping for my 1000 Mile Walk! Map showing my virtual journey from Albany, OR to Arches NP! Last year with an injured foot I was not able to complete my 1000 mile walk. In fact, my foot hurt so much I had to stop walking altogether. It was a challenging year, but now it's a new year, and I am back on the trail! I am doing a lot of self care and have special shoes and foot creme to keep me walking in 2022! I am not sure if I will reach my goal, but......

Day #1 at the Eagle Trail at Takena Park in Albany, OR  Day #1 - January 1, 2022 ~ Hooting with the Owls As I begin my virtual journey to Arches National Park, I am gifted with the presence of two great horned owls. While hiking on the Eagle Trail by the Willamette River in the early evening,   I heard the call of an owl. I gave out my version of an owl hoot and he hooted right back! Soon another owl flew in and joined us in our hooting party. Of course it was too dark for a photo, so I decided to do a quick sketch of my wonderful experience with the owls! It was really a hoot!
